«He touched the private parts of one of our players».

In Spain, the case of Mapi Leon, a Barcelona women's footballer accused by Espanyol, another club from the Catalan capital, of what is defined as " an unacceptable gesture that cannot go unpunished" has exploded.

The controversy erupted after the last derby between the two teams, won by the Blaugrana 2-0. "The Barcelona player Maria Pilar León, in the midst of a duel with our Daniela Caracas, committed an act that violated her privacy," Espanyol explained in a statement.

In a video of the encounter circulating on social media, the Barcelona player, who plays in defense, can be seen touching her opponent's groin.

According to Spanish media, from the lip-reading transcript, Leon also asked Caracas if he had "a penis".

Espanyol has made its legal services available to its Colombian player, in case Caracas intends to file a complaint.

For his part, Mapi Leon responded to the accusations as follows : "At no time did I violate, nor did I intend to violate, the privacy of my colleague , Daniela Caracas. In the images you can see that it is a normal game action in which she intentionally bumps into me and I touch her leg saying, in reaction to this collision, "What's wrong with you?". Under no circumstances would it occur to me to touch the private parts of any of my colleagues. It goes against my principles and I will never do it."
