Matteo Salvini contested his arrival at the station of Przemysl, a Polish town about ten kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

The mayor of the city Wojciech Bakun first thanked Italy, then showed a T-shirt with Putin's face and, turning to Salvini, said: "I do not receive it, come with me to the border to condemn him".

Even a small group of Italians challenged the Northern League leader shouting: "Buffone".

Salvini replied by saying he was there to bring "aid and peace". "We are not interested in the controversy of the Italian or Polish left, we are here to help those fleeing the war," he said.

As announced in recent days, the Northern League leader headed to the border between Poland and Ukraine with the volunteers of "Ripartiamo onlus", the association that last week transferred 35 people to Italy, including women and children who were in orphanages.
