Zelensky has already arrived in Washington. So has Giorgia Meloni. All is ready at the White House for the summit between Donald Trump , the Ukrainian president , and several European leaders to discuss the peace plan with Russia after the Anchorage summit with Putin.

Also present, among others, were Ursula Von der Leyen, Macron, Merz and Starmer.

"Ukrainian President Zelensky can end the war with Russia almost immediately if he wishes, or he can continue to fight," Trump said a few hours after the meeting. "Remember how this all started. You can't get back the Crimea Obama gave you (12 years ago, without a shot being fired!), and you can't get Ukraine into NATO . Some things never change!" the American president added.

"We all share a strong desire to end this war quickly and reliably," Zelensky told X upon his arrival in Washington. "Peace must be lasting," the Kiev leader continued . "I am confident that we will defend Ukraine, ensure its security, and our people will always be grateful to Trump, America, and every partner for their support and invaluable assistance. Russia must end this war, which it itself started. And I hope that our joint strength with America and our European friends can force Russia to make real peace."

Meanwhile, at least 3 people were killed and dozens injured last night in Russian bombing of Kharkiv.
