The Austrian Alpine Rescue rescued around a hundred pupils and teachers in helicopters, stranded on a mountain path in Austria , in Vorarlberg.

The eight professors and 99 boys, aged between 12 and 14, came from Ludwigshafen, Germany .

A teacher - writes the Apa agency citing the Austrian police - had organized a trip to the Kleinwalsertal. But what, on the internet , was presented as an easy hike turned out to be a demanding undertaking , along a very exposed mountain ridge. The pupils and teachers thus faced the path without the appropriate equipment and preparation. The rain then made the rock even more slippery. Two boys in fact slipped for a few meters , reporting slight injuries. At this point the group panicked and one of the teachers sounded the alarm.

Two helicopters were mobilized and accompanied the children and their teachers downstream to a forest road.

As reported by the mayor of Mittelberg Andi Haid, in addition to the two minor injuries, some pupils were mentally and physically exhausted and with mild symptoms of hypothermia.
