New scandal on the French Church, the archbishop of Paris resigns: "Relationship with a woman"

The archbishop of Paris has resigned his resignation to Pope Francis.

Monsignor Michel Aupetit was overwhelmed by the storm after a weekly revealed an alleged relationship with a woman in 2012. The diocese of Paris acknowledges that the high prelate at the time had "ambiguous behavior" with a woman. Now the Pope will decide on the question.

A new scandal therefore on the French Church after the independent report on the pedophilia of the French clergy : over 200 thousand victims, starting from the 1950s to date, with three thousand priests, religious and laity within the Church involved. "It is the moment of shame", the Pontiff commented.

Today, in the meantime, Francesco received the French President Emmanuel Macron (in Italy to sign the Quirinale Treaty ). The official notes of the meeting, which lasted an hour compared to the half hour initially planned, speak of a discussion on global issues, from the pandemic to the climate after COP26, from tensions in the Middle East to migrants, from African development to the situation in Latin America, also in view of the French presidency of the EU Council starting from January 2022.
