A new mole accuses Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg's social media "put growth and profits above the battle against hate speech, disinformation and other threats to the public," reports the Washington Post citing a new "deep throat" former Facebook employee who, in an affidavit, relates the words of company communications officer Tucker Bounds.

Bounds, regarding the controversy over alleged Russian interference on the 2017 elections, said: "It's a flash in the pan, in a few weeks they will focus on other things while we print money".

The Washington Post also questioned Bounds, who declined to answer on the merits: "Being asked about an alleged face-to-face conversation four years ago with a person who has no face and with no other source than an empty accusation, is a first for me".

Several times the employees of the social network have raised the alarm on the spread of fake news and conspiracy theories before and after the presidential elections.

The New York Times cites internal documents showing that Facebook was well aware of extremist groups trying to polarize American public opinion before the election.

Documents reveal that the company's employees believed more needed to be done.
