A ballistic missile launched from Yemen has hit the area inside the perimeter of Tel Aviv airport. The IDF reported, explaining that the air defense was unable to intercept the missile. Local media reported one injured.

Shortly before the attack, alarm sirens sounded in Israel's capital and other parts of the Jewish state.

The capital's airport had been closed for some time by the authorities.

A senior Houthi official, Muhammad al-Bahiti, claimed responsibility for the attack on behalf of the Yemeni rebels, speaking to Qatari broadcaster Al Araby. "The attack on Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv," he said, "is proof of the group's ability to target important sites inside Israel."
