“Our state information assets, one of the largest, have faced an unprecedented hacker attack on their digital infrastructure.”
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed reports of an alleged hacker attack on Russian state broadcaster Vgtrk, Interfax and Tass reported.
Vgtrk told Interfax that “on the night of October 7, the online services” of the Russian state broadcaster “were subjected to an unprecedented hacker attack, but no significant damage was caused to the work of the media holding.”
The attack was claimed by the anonymous pro-Ukrainian hacker group Sudo rm-RF. On Vladimir Putin's birthday, hackers suspended online broadcasts of the Rossiya 1 and Rossiya 24 TV channels.
