Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi announced this morning a 15-day extension of controls "at the air and sea borders with Spain," in a statement addressed to the European Commission and his counterparts in the European Union.

The measure, the Interior Ministry informs, was deemed necessary following the assessments conducted by the Committee for the Analysis of Immigration and Border Security, which met this morning. Indeed, the Ministry maintains, "there remain high risks to internal security, as well as a potential threat linked to terrorist infiltration."
