An Italian teacher was killed in England, for the murder - which took place in her home in Colchester - her husband was arrested .

The victim is Antonella Castelvedere , 52, from Brescia who had lived in Great Britain for 25 years where she worked as a lecturer in English literature at the University of Suffolk, Essex.

She was reportedly hit with a knife repeatedly and died shortly after the arrival of help from the serious injuries sustained. It is not yet clear who raised the alarm, when the rescuers arrived at the scene, her husband was also injured .

The murder took place on the morning of June 1, the next day the news reached the relatives.

Antonella had a twelve-year-old son , the man arrested for the murder - her husband - is English. Since she had moved only twice she had returned to Italy. The British authorities have launched an appeal: "Anyone who has filmed or knows anything, contact us."
