A 46-year-old Italian was killed in Corsica by her partner, a 21-year-old Frenchman. The tragedy took place in Bastia where Alessandra Frati had moved for some time in search of work from her city, Livorno. He had two children.

On the night between Tuesday and yesterday, neighbors called the police because they heard screams coming from the couple's apartment. When the agents arrived at the scene they rang, knocked, finally broke down the door and found the woman dying, while the young man had thrown himself out of a window, dying instantly. The 46-year-old was rescued and rushed to hospital, with severe stab wounds, but attempts by doctors to save her life were fruitless.

For the authorities the picture is clear, there seems to be no doubt about a case classified as homicide-suicide. The prosecutor has ordered the medico-legal examinations.
