Gaza's Hamas-run Health Ministry says 134 people have been killed and 1,155 injured in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours.

Since the beginning of hostilities on October 7, 2023, a press release published on Telegram also states, 59,029 deaths have been recorded and 142,135 injured.

Meanwhile, on Monday morning, Pope Leo XIV received a phone call from Mahmoud Abbas, aka Abu Mazen, President of the State of Palestine. "The Pope," the Vatican press office reported, "renewed his call for full respect for international humanitarian law and the obligation to protect civilians and sacred places," as well as "the prohibition of the indiscriminate use of force and the forced transfer of populations."
