The Israeli army attacked Hezbollah command centers in the Lebanese capital Beirut.
At least six – local sources report – buildings were destroyed by the Jewish state's raids, conducted with around twenty missiles fired from warplanes.
Images released by local media show huge columns of black smoke rising into the sky, while witnesses reported multiple explosions.
IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari confirmed that Hezbollah's central headquarters, located under a residential building in Beirut's Dahiya neighborhood, was hit in a "targeted attack."
"As long as Hezbollah chooses war, Israel has no alternative," said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his speech to the UN General Assembly, assuring that the Jewish state will continue its attacks in Lebanon "until we achieve our goals."
"We will continue to weaken Hezbollah," assured the leader of the Jewish state, because "it is the quintessential terrorist organization."
Netanyahu also warned Iran: “If you attack us, we will hit you,” he said from New York, saying that “Tehran is trying to impose its radicalism far beyond the Middle East.”
