Political crisis in Holland .

The government led by the leader of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy Mark Rutte fell after exhausting and inconclusive negotiations on the new measures to be implemented for the reception of migrants and asylum seekers.

In fact, its majority split: the Christian Democrats pushed for a net limitation of family reunification for migrants, while the liberals of the D66 party and the Calvinists of the Christian Union opposed it.

Finding an agreement proved impossible and so the prime minister announced the crisis.

“We have sadly reached the conclusion that the differences are insurmountable . For this reason, I will submit my resignation in writing to the king on behalf of the whole government,” announced Rutte, paving the way for a return to the polls, expected in the autumn.
