"Is there a doctor on board?".

Canadian doctor Aisha Khatib, a lecturer at the University of Toronto, never thought that raising her hand she would find herself delivering a passenger on board a plane.

It happened on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Uganda. The plane had left about an hour when the emergency was triggered. A pregnant woman in her 35th week was about to give birth and so Dr. Khatib intervened.

"When I approached - he told the BBC - I saw this woman lying on the floor and the little girl who was going out".

“Thanks to the airline crew who helped support the birth of this Miracle in the air - he added -. Mother and child are fine and in perfect health ”.

The little girl was given the name of "Miracle", and Aisha, after the woman who helped her mother to give birth.
