Hadith Najafi , the girl who symbolized the protests in Iran after the killing of Mahsa Amini - the 22-year-old Kurdish woman who died after her arrest for not wearing the hijab correctly - was also killed in Karaj.

This was reported by various social networks and in particular the Iranian journalist Masih Alinejad on her Twitter profile: "Her sister told me that she was only 20 years old and was killed by 6 bullets in the city of Karaj". Famous are the images in which Hadith, without a veil, tied her blond hair before a demonstration.

According to Tehran, 35 have been killed after a week of marches, rallies and barricades, while NGOs and opposition sources report at least 50 dead, with hundreds injured. And among the victims, according to Amnesty International, there are also four children . Massive arrests were impressive, with hundreds of people in handcuffs.

The ultra-conservative Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi promised an iron fist and defined the demonstrators as "rioters who disturb order and security" and therefore must be stopped. According to the Minister of the Interior, Ahmad Vahidi, the demonstrators are "following the United States and the European countries and the counter-revolutionaries in order to create disorder and destruction".

As for Mahsa's fate, Vahidi said he ruled out the beating by the police, adding to "wait for the final report from the medical team," which carries out the autopsy. "Reports were received from the surveillance services - he added - witnesses were questioned, the videos were reviewed, the opinions of forensic doctors were obtained and it was ascertained that there were no beatings" on the woman.
