Government crisis in Germany, where Chancellor Olaf Scholz has reportedly “fired” Finance Minister Christian Lindner, of the liberal FDP.

In recent days, Lindner and the liberal parliamentary group had asked their allies, the SPD and the Greens, to start negotiations to approve a series of concrete reform proposals, even threatening to leave the government. Lindner himself even went so far as to propose a return to the vote in 2025.

On Wednesday evening - after a meeting of the Chancellery - the earthquake, with the news of the dismissal of the minister, which in fact undermines the conditions for carrying out the requests for political and financial reforms put forward by the liberals.
