Gaza, after 4 months of fighting, Israeli troops withdraw from the south of the Strip

The Israeli army announced that it had withdrawn all ground troops from the southern Strip, after about 4 months of heavy fighting.

The local media reported this, explaining that only the Nahal Brigade remained on site with the task of keeping safe the so-called "Netzarim Corridor" which crosses the Strip, along the coast from the northern border, near Kibbutz Beeri, to the south .

Meanwhile, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz left for Rome for a diplomatic visit and a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, the Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, the Interior Minister Matteo Piantadosi and the leaders of the Jewish community in Italy.

Together with Katz also a delegation of family members of the hostages seized by Hamas during the raids on 7 October 2023.
