One million Palestinians are fleeing Gaza City, as Israel ramps up its offensive. The army wants to complete the occupation by the start of the Jewish New Year, September 22. The Jerusalem government is pressuring the military leadership to reach that date, a "qualified" source (i.e., very close to the ministers) revealed to the public television station Kan, explaining that most of the humanitarian infrastructure in the southern Strip is ready to accommodate the evacuated population.

Meanwhile, humanitarian pauses have been put on hold and aid distribution to the population has been halted.

A Palestinian source told Al Arabiya and Al Hadath this morning that the spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, Hamas's military wing, known as Abu Obeida, was killed. The Palestinian source confirmed that Israel targeted a house where the Qassam Brigades spokesman was staying, and that the Israeli bombing killed everyone inside . The source reported that Abu Obeida's family and the leaders of the Qassam Brigades confirmed his death after examining his body.

Yesterday in Tel Aviv, thousands of people took to the streets to demand the government accept the hostage release deal , attacking the executive after a rumor spread this evening, reiterated by national news outlets, that the issue would not be on the agenda at today's security cabinet meeting. This is despite Israeli military and security officials being ready to present a united front to demand that ministers accept the current ceasefire and hostage release proposal and abandon the offensive.

The Family Forum said this decision is " further proof that the Netanyahu government is resorting to perpetual war by sacrificing hostages ."
