For 11 years he lost track of himself . Up until a few hours ago, his name was on the Ministry of the Interior's list of dangerous fugitives. Then Napoli won the Scudetto and 60-year-old Vincenzo La Porta celebrated , complete with photos to capture the moment.

This was enough for the Carabinieri to track him down, on the Greek island of Corfu . The man, considered a " white collar " of the Contini clan, was handcuffed. In recent years, the carabinieri of the investigative nucleus of Naples have waited for him to make a false step, probing the web and his financial movements. Then the turning point.

The military recognized him in a photo taken in front of a restaurant : baseball cap on his head, blue scarf in his hands. After a long series of investigations and tailings, carried out with the collaboration of the Greek police forces, they blocked him on the street while he was riding his scooter.

Over the years on the run, the 60-year-old was convicted in absentia, believed to be the promoter of a criminal association dedicated for years to systematic tax evasion, tax fraud and fraud to the detriment of foreign suppliers. After the Greek parenthesis, La Porta will now have to serve 14 years and 4 months in prison.
