As of today, Mahamoud Boune Idrissa is officially an Italian citizen. This morning, at Porta Terra, he took the oath of office before the mayor of Alghero, Raimondo Cacciotto , completing the process initiated by the presidential decree obtained last May. The ceremony took place in an atmosphere of great emotion, in the presence of a large group of friends and compatriots who wanted to share this important milestone with him.

Born in Kidal, Mali, Mahamoud has lived in Alghero since 2013. He is a cultural mediator, head of the CGIL Immigration Department, and president of the High Council of Malians in Italy. His migration story is marked by a long, difficult, and dangerous journey through sub-Saharan Africa, until he landed in Sardinia, where over the years he built his life by serving the community.

During the ceremony, Mayor Raimondo Cacciotto thanked Mahamoud for his daily commitment to promoting the integration of his fellow citizens and fostering dialogue with the local community. Also in attendance were several Malian citizens living in Alghero, including top athletes from Pallacanestro Alghero, who wanted to celebrate this significant moment with him.
