From Cagliari, solidarity with the displaced in Lebanon, in Tyre, due to the Israeli attack. An ambulance equipped with the most advanced technologies for monitoring and treating critical patients, worth over 45 thousand euros, a gift from the Lions Club Cagliari–Saint Remy, was delivered by the Italian soldiers of the United Nations Force (Unifil) to the Crisis Unit of Tyre, a municipality that hosts thousands of displaced people from the border areas of southern Lebanon.

The delivery of the rescue vehicle, in addition to the supply of medicines, medical devices, food, clothing and other basic necessities, the result of the generosity of numerous donors, is part of the civil-military cooperation projects to which the Italian contingent gave new impetus at the end of November.

Following the announcement of the cessation of hostilities between Lebanon and Israel, the parties committed to allowing civilians on both sides of the “Blue Line” to safely return to their lands and homes, to fully implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

The donation took place at the headquarters of the Disaster Management Risk of Tyre, during a symbolic ceremony attended by Hassan Dbouk, mayor and president of the Union of Municipalities of Tyre, Colonel Alessio Argese, commander of Italbatt, the maneuver unit of the Italian contingent of Unifil, and Colonel Eugenio Fortunato, commander of the Logistics Regiment "Sassari", promoter of the collection.

When handing over the keys to the ambulance, Dbouk stressed that "the vehicle, in addition to renewing the fleet of vehicles dedicated to roadside assistance, will be used for advanced assistance, being equipped with the best equipment and the best devices intended to perform an extremely important service for our entire territory. On board the ambulance, in fact, the patient will be able to receive immediate assistance before being transported to the hospital."

"We are in Lebanon to maintain peace and to assist the population, who every day show us affection and gratitude," Colonel Argese underlined.

The humanitarian aid shipment was offered by the Lions Club Cagliari – Saint Remy, the Military Ordinariate for Italy, the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, the Grendi 1828 Group, Nurjana Technologies Srl, the National Association of the Sassari Brigade, the ASD Gli amici di Don Bosco – Cagliari and the Quartu Sant'Elena Relief Operations Unit.
