A devastating fire that broke out in a paint factory in New Delhi left 11 people dead.

The flames broke out late yesterday on the outskirts of the Indian capital.

«There was an explosion in the paint factory and the building collapsed. The victims were workers,” said the director of the fire brigade, Atul Garg. "The impact was such that the fire spread to a house and a drug rehabilitation center nearby."

The fire has been put out and the causes are being investigated, the Indian authorities add.
