A wing of the district court in Ludhiana, India, was destroyed this morning by an explosion that left two dead and five seriously injured.

At the moment, the police said they had not identified the cause of what happened. The governor of Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi, exponent of the Congress party arrived on the spot: "I want to assure all citizens that those responsible will be punished. Anyone who tries to disturb the peace and harmony of our state will answer for his actions" , he wrote on Twitter.

In recent weeks, two Sikh temples, the predominant religion in the state, have been the scene of episodes of deadly lynchings.
