«Hamas gave a positive response to the US-backed proposal to release the hostages in exchange for the suspension of Israel's war in Gaza».

The announcement comes from the Prime Minister of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, according to whom Hamas has given the OK to the "general framework of the agreement regarding the hostages", even if the response of the Islamic organization "includes some comments, in general it's positive."

However, shortly afterwards Hamas insisted on its call for a "total ceasefire" and an "end to the aggression". "We approach the proposal with a positive spirit", he adds, also asking for the "guarantee of relief, shelter and rehabilitation, the end of the siege on the Gaza Strip and the completion of a prisoner exchange".

In fact, Tel Aviv is slowing down: «Hamas' response – explains an Israeli political source – is essentially negative. He said yes to the framework of the agreement but set impossible conditions. We will not stop fighting."

An answer "a little beyond the limit", as Joe Biden defined it. "We're thinking about it."
