Dogs are able to recognize colon cancer by their sense of smell . This is what emerges from a study by the University of Kyushu, in Japan, which carried out a test on some specimens of Labrador.

In fact, the animal would feel the tumor – even before the diagnosis – from the patient's breath and faeces . In the study, the dogs sniffed correctly 98% of the time from feces and 95% from their breath.

A doubly useful result, because through the analysis the researchers have highlighted how cancer is able to emit a recognizable smell during its circulation through the body.
