There is a delay in the release of the second group of Israeli hostages kidnapped in the Gaza Strip on October 7. The trial, which should have started at 4pm (3pm in Italy), has not yet been completed.

Exchange of accusations between the parties involved regarding the responsibility for the slippage. The al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced that the delay is due to the fact that «Israel has not implemented the elements of the agreement», in particular «humanitarian aid to Gaza and the north of the Strip and the release of Palestinian prisoners" .

An Egyptian security source also said that the delay was due to the fact that the Palestinian detainees had not yet been released by the Israeli occupation forces and that, according to the agreement, the release of hostages and prisoners must take place at the same time .

Israel for its part denies having violated the agreement and threatens Hamas: « If the hostages are not released by midnight, the army will resume war operations . Hamas knows this and tries to control the narrative by blaming us for the delay." The reality, Tel Aviv claims, is that "before the agreed exchange took place, Hamas changed the route of the travel and transfer of the abductees contrary to the plan."
