The identification of the six Italian victims of the New Year's Eve massacre in Crans-Montana has been completed, according to the Italian ambassador to Switzerland, Gian Lorenzo Cornado . The four previously identified—16-year-old Giovanni Tamburi from Bologna, 16-year-old Achille Barosi from Milan, 17-year-old Emanuele Galeppini from Genoa, and 16-year-old Chiara Costanzo from Milan—should now be joined by 15-year-old Italian-Swiss Sofia Prosperi and 16-year-old Riccardo Minghetti from Rome.

Around fifteen young Italians were injured in the tragic fire that broke out in the “Le Constellation” club in the well-known Swiss ski resort during the New Year's Eve party.

Meanwhile, while the Swiss authorities are continuing their investigation ( the investigation is for manslaughter and arson ), the Swiss Confederation has declared a day of national mourning for Friday 9 January in memory of the victims of the fire.

"Tragedys happen, but this was not a tragedy but an avoidable one: all it would have taken was a little prevention and a minimum of common sense," said Ambassador Cornado at the end of a ceremony held on Sunday morning in Crans-Montana to commemorate the victims.
