" Several people " are missing after a collision between two cargo ships in the North Sea this morning.

This is what the "Havariekommando" website reports, a body made up of the State and five German coastal regions for rescue interventions in the North Sea and the Baltic , according to which "one person was saved" and "underwent medical treatment".

The collision occurred approximately 22 kilometers south-west of the island of Helgoland and 31 km north-east of Langeoog, while the search for the shipwrecked people is underway .

The cargo ships " Polesie ", with 22 people on board, and the " Verity ", which "is assumed to have sunk", collided around 5 this morning.

Several ships and a German Navy helicopter were used in the search. In the area the authorities report a force six wind on the Beaufort scale (which is 17 degrees) and three meter high waves.
