Chaos breaks out during the distribution of humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip, Israeli soldiers open fire to disperse the crowd and there is a massacre.

According to Hamas, over 110 victims fell on the ground among people waiting to receive basic necessities in the al-Rashid Street area and over seven hundred were injured.

For its part, Israel explains: "During the entry of aid trucks into northern Gaza, residents surrounded the vehicles whose transit the Israeli soldiers were ensuring and looted the supplies." "In the incident - says the army - dozens of people were trampled in the crowd", while military sources report that the soldiers "fired at those who had surrounded the trucks" and that the crowd "crowded in such a way as to pose a threat to the troops."

What happened immediately aroused international reactions. For the US there are "contradictory versions" of what happened that need to be verified.

«I learned with deep dismay and concern the dramatic news of what happened today in Gaza. It is urgent for Israel to ascertain the dynamics of the facts and the related responsibilities", said Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni instead. Adding: «The new and numerous civilian victims require us to immediately intensify efforts on the ongoing negotiations to create the conditions for a ceasefire and the release of the hostages».
