A New York jury has ordered Donald Trump to pay $83.3 million in damages for defaming writer Jean Carroll.

According to the prosecution, the millionaire, former US president and now running again for the White House, is guilty of having denied in 2019 - when he was president - a sexual assault that took place almost 30 years ago in a luxury department store in Grande Apple.

Carroll had asked for 24 million.

This is the second civil conviction after that of last May, when the tycoon was found responsible for the same violence, as well as defamation, and forced to pay 5 million dollars.
