"Great shock and total horror".

This is what the bishops of Cameroon expressed, following the latest act of violence against Catholics in the African country, yet another of a series of others carried out in other nations of the continent.

The church of Santa Maria in Nchang , in the diocese of Mamfe, was set on fire and eight people were kidnapped . These are five priests, a nun and two lay faithful.

The episode comes just ten days after the fire started by terrorists in the Catholic mission of Chipene, in Mozambique. The Italian missionary nun Maria De Coppi was killed in the attack. But violence of this type is also on the agenda in Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Congo, just to name a few countries held in check by jihadist groups.
