Eric Lander, one of the scientist advisers to US President Joe Biden, forced to resign after a series of serious accusations by his collaborators, who complained of a series of bullying and mistreatment.
Accusations also confirmed by an internal investigation launched by the White House.
The resignation, accepted by the American president, comes despite the administration initially insisting on Lander's need to remain in his post, while taking "corrective measures" to create a good working environment.
For his part, Lander, director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy, sent his department a letter of apology for his behavior. Behavior that allegedly violated the Biden administration's policy of a "safe and respectful" workplace.
