British deputy killed, the killer had planned the attack for at least a week
He was inspired by the Somali Islamists, he booked an appointment with David Amess at the meeting with the voters last October 15th. When his turn came, he stabbed him 17 times
Ali Harbi Ali, the alleged killer of Tory MP David Amess, has been planning the attack for at least a week, the media reported.
The 25-year-old would have been inspired by the extremists of Al Shabaab, the Somali Islamists linked to Al Quaida.
He had booked an appointment at Amess's scheduled voter meeting for October 15 in Leigh on Sea.
Then, patiently, according to the account of local Conservative councilor John Lamb, he attested his turn. When he arrived, he attacked the deputy and stabbed him 17 times in front of two of his assistants.
"They told me that after hitting Sir David he simply waited for the police to arrive in the parish hall" of the Methodist church where the meeting was held, Kevin Buck, vice president of the district association, told the Telegraph.
