The approval of the American president Joe Biden falls flat.

According to the latest Quinnipiac University poll, just three out of ten Americans approve of the work of the former Delaware senator, who has headed the White House for just under a year.

In November 2021, the approval rate was 36%, in February it was 50%. Today, however, more than half of American adults (53%) disapprove of the work done by the Democrat, while 13% say they cannot express an opinion.

Compared to the previous projection, the approval among the voters of his party also drops and therefore among those who essentially voted for him: today the percentage of approval among them is 75%, while two months ago it was 87%.

Runaway inflation and the handling of the Covid-19 epidemic are the two main reasons that make Biden such an unloved president. In detail, it is bad for the economy (34% approve, 57% disapprove), the pandemic (39% approve, 55% approve) and foreign policy (35% approve, 54% disapprove).

As January 20 approaches, the first anniversary of Biden's inauguration, 50% of Americans say the president is doing as he expected, 39% say he is doing worse than expected, and only 7% say he is outdoing expectations.

Finally, according to almost one in two Americans (49%), the president is doing little to unite the country.

It's not much better for Vice President Kamala Harris, Biden's natural "heir" if he decides not to reapply in 2024. According to the Wall Street Journal, the Democrats are already thinking of an alternative name for the two. Surprisingly, it could be that of Hillary Clinton , the former secretary of state back from the sensational blow of 2016 against Donald Trump who chose not to reappear in 2020: according to the authoritative American newspaper, the former first lady is currently "the best chance of democrats ".
