Some swimmers have been attacked by a baby seal at Clifton Beach, one of the most famous beaches in Cape Town, South Africa.

The young specimen chased a child on the shore and then bit an American actress six times in the sea, causing her injuries that required transfer to the emergency room.

The deputy mayor of Cape Town, Eddie Andrews, reminded bathers and tourists that we must stay away from marine animals: " We encourage everyone to treat marine fauna with respect ".

The Hout Bay Seal Rescue Center, which rescues and rehabilitates injured or sick seals, said it is natural for a seal to become aggressive if disturbed .
