A 23-year-old man stabbed five passers-by on Saturday afternoon in Villach in southern Austria, killing one of them, Austrian TV ORF reported. According to police, the victim was a 14-year-old. The attack took place near the main square. The perpetrator, a Syrian national, has been arrested.

According to the reconstruction of the incident, the perpetrator of the stabbing was stopped by a passerby in a car who ran him over . The spokesman for the Austrian police, Rainer Dionisio, provided details on the ambush.

The killer stabbed passers-by shortly before 4 p.m. in Villach's main square. The oldest of the injured is 32 years old. Law enforcement is looking for a possible accomplice.

"It looked like a horror movie . Everything happened in an instant," said a passerby who witnessed the attack.
