The former civilian leader of Burma, Aung San Suu Kyi, was sentenced to four years in prison in an excerpt of her trial after which she risks decades of detention.

A source close to the case makes it known.

Suu Kyi, who is under house arrest after the February 1, 2021 coup, was found guilty of illegally importing walkie-talkies.

She had already been sentenced in December to four years in prison for violating the restrictions on the coronavirus, a sentence then reduced to two years by the junta.

The US, for its part, called the condemnation "an affront to justice" and asked for his release.
