Austrian police have thwarted an attack on the Gay Pride parade that took place yesterday in Vienna.

Three very young ISIS sympathizers aged 14, 17 and 20 were arrested on Saturday morning shortly before the demonstration, Austrian intelligence chief Omar Haijawi-Pirchner said at a press conference.

The three, radicalized via the web, were under close observation. For the participants and visitors of the "Regenbogenparade", the rainbow parade, "at no time was there a concrete danger", Haijawi-Pirchner reiterated, precisely because the police acted in advance.

The arrested are Austrian citizens of Bosnian and Chechen origin and were already known to the police in the context of the fight against Islamic terrorism. During the searches of their homes, "weapons and other material" were seized.
