Bulldozers and excavators have been in action in Gaza City in recent hours to clear the rubble that still covers much of the city, devastated by over two years of bombardment. Footage released by Al Jazeera shows the vehicles working amid collapsed buildings and streets reduced to piles of debris, while hundreds of Palestinian civilians slowly return to their destroyed homes.

According to the broadcaster, citing its own sources on the spot, several trucks loaded with humanitarian aid entered the Gaza Strip this morning through the Karem Shalom (Karem Abu Salem, in Arabic) and Nitzana crossings, and are now awaiting inspection procedures.
