A young Italian footballer falls into a canal in Amsterdam

A young Italian died in Amsterdam after falling into a canal.

The circumstances of the tragedy in which Gabriele Gallani, a 24-year-old resident of Neviano degli Arduini (Parma), lost his life, are all to be clarified, the police have launched an appeal to look for any witnesses.

From an initial reconstruction, Gallani – a player of the Traversetolo Team – was on vacation with friends. On Friday evening, near Dam square, he fell into a water channel. Those who were with him did not immediately notice the accident because the 24-year-old was left behind. The rescuers, after recovery by the firefighters, then transported him to the hospital where he died a few hours later.
