A cable car car crashed to the ground in Jested, in the north of the Czech Republic. The accident resulted in one victim.

A second cabin, where other people were, remained at the departure station and no one was injured. However, the passengers are in shock.

From what has emerged so far it seems that the tragedy occurred one day before the plant was closed to be subjected to a five-year review. It has been in operation since 1933 and was completely redone in the 1970s.

The authorities have opened an investigation to shed light on what happened.
