A bomb explodes during mass: massacre in the Philippines
Attack during a Catholic function in the gymnasium of the University of Mindanao. At least 4 dead and dozens injured
At least four people were killed and nearly 50 injured in an explosion at a Catholic mass in the Philippines.
This would be an attack, carried out during a function that was taking place in a gymnasium of the State University of Mindanao, in the city of Marawi.
The president of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marcos Jr, condemned the "senseless" attack, confirming that it was a bomb. According to Marcos, the authors were "foreign terrorists".
In 2017, the targeted city was the site of a five-month battle between government forces and Islamic State-linked militants.
