Federico Dionisi has been appointed by the AIA as the referee for Verona-Cagliari, a Serie A matchday eight match scheduled for Sunday at 3:00 PM at the Bentegodi Stadium . The L'Aquila referee will be assisted by Pietro Dei Giudici (Latina) and Marco Trinchieri (Milan), and the fourth official will be Davide Di Marco (Ciampino). Daniele Doveri (Roma 1) will be in charge of VAR, with Marco Serra (Turin) as assistant.

This is Dionisi's first time in Serie A this season. He has refereed three Serie B matches (Frosinone-Avellino on August 24, Pescara-Venezia on September 13, and Sampdoria-Catanzaro on October 1) plus Genoa-Empoli in the Coppa Italia on September 25. His last time in the top flight was on January 13, Monza-Fiorentina, in 35 appearances. His previous meetings with Cagliari have seen almost exclusively defeats: 5 (the last 3-0 against Genoa on April 29, 2024) plus a 1-1 draw at Empoli on February 13, 2022. Interesting fact: he has been appointed for the Rossoblu seven times, including this one, and all of them were away matches.

These are the fixtures for the eighth round of Serie A, which kicks off on Friday.
