It is "The Last Habanera", the short film by the Nuorese director Carlo Licheri, the winner of the "Youth Award" at the Visioni Italiane 2021 Festival in Bologna, section "Visioni Sarde". It was chosen by the jury composed of Francesco Chergia, Maria Chironi, Efisia Curreli, Sara Puddu, Francesco Rubattu, Valerio Joe Utzeri, with the following motivation: "In a high-level setting, with remarkable photography and acting, the film strikes for the excellent drafting of the dialogues 'in limba' - including the exciting sung - and for the story narrated, a particular anecdote worthy of being known that sees Sardinia as medically relevant in the national and international context and which unites the experience characters to the great history of the twentieth century ".

THE PLOT - Ciccio and Bruna are the protagonists of a troubled love story. Or rather, he, still a boy, is in love with her but she only thinks of an American soldier stationed in Cagliari. He is elderly Ciccio and he thinks back to that young woman, to when he asked her for her hand, to when they worked together in a Cagliari radio from an air-raid shelter at the end of the Second World War. It was during a live that all hell happened, but not just any direct: the one in which the end of the conflict is announced.

OTHER ACKNOWLEDGMENTS - In these hours the same film has been selected as a finalist at the Amarcord Film Festival 2021 in Rimini, in the main category in competition, after having passed a preselection on 20 October and resulting in the short most voted by the public. The festival is scheduled from 23 to 28 November in Rimini.

"My heartfelt thanks to Visioni Italiane Visioni Sarde and the Youth Jury for the wonderful award - comments Licheri -. I dedicate it to the wonderful women of the crew and cast, who have created and given dignity to this work with their talent, their professionalism and their strength. And I thank the public and the organization of the Rimini festival for this selection and opportunity ".
