They flew to London just so they could watch King Charles's coronation procession.

«A direct Ryanair ticket for 27 euros, we also threw away two previously purchased tickets because there was a stopover scheduled».

Elena Sollai from Villasor, Michela from Orgosolo, Roberta Mirigliani and Luigina (both from Cagliari) camped with a tent on Friday in the early hours of the morning.

"It's not the first time we've taken part in events like this, we went to Queen Elizabeth's Jubilee last year and we understood that you need to arrive well in advance to be able to have a front row seat ", Elena Sollai explains to the Unione Sarda .

«They are historic events, which it is very nice to witness . People arriving from all over the world, eighty-year-olds who had been camping there for three days. People dressed in the colors of the flag or wrapped in flags, the British are incredible."

They earned their place in the front row tooth and nail, and they didn't let it slip away: "We took turns going to the bathroom, there always had to be someone left to keep the place".

To be recognized, they placed a folded apron with the coat of arms of the Four Moors above the tent : «It was very attractive, it is a coat of arms that is very popular and is recognized all over the world. It attracted much more than the American flag of our neighbors. Many, not only Sardinians, stopped to talk to us. Intrigued also and above all by the fact that there were four women ».

Other Sardinians met? «Yes, many, as mentioned, they stopped as soon as they saw the Quattro Mori. One in particular has been with us for a long time: a girl from Cabras who lives in California and was in London for work, she is a friend of Elisabetta Canalis, she told us».

But what prompted them to make this trip was not their admiration for King Charles, but in general for the British Crown and for these events, which the four Sardinian women never want to miss: " We don't want Charles, we want William and we will be back for his coronation. And then Camilla… Yes, that's fine, but Diana was the one we would have liked ».

Elena, Michela, Roberta and Luigina are still in London, they have decided to stay a few more days. They will return to Sardinia on Tuesday: «But now we are no longer camping in tents...».
