Crs4 flies to Dubai to participate in the Expo. The Research Center controlled by the Region will reach the Italian Pavilion installed in the Emirate to strengthen its presence in the new technologies sector. Together with the researchers from Cagliari there will be the technicians of Tolo Green, the first Italian producer of spirulina microalgae that manages the plant capable of producing oxygen for the same pavilion, through carbon dioxide capture techniques. New formulas capable of combining the protection of natural resources with the efficiency of processes. In Dubai, Crs4 will also be present with its highly interactive technology for the dissemination of unique multimedia content.

Giacomo Cao, sole administrator of Crs4, underlines the importance of research and explains how important the works carried out on the island are: "For a year now I have been coordinating a working group that involves public and private entities operating in Sardinia with the aim of addressing an important scientific and technological issue in the astrobiology sector ». The scientists 'work is summarized as follows:' We are concentrating on studying the behavior of plant and animal cell lines, and therefore also human ones, in extraterrestrial conditions. The aim is to understand all the possible mechanisms that can help future missions on different celestial bodies ». The tests conducted in the laboratories of the Pula Science Park move towards the commercial exploitation of the technology: "The results materialized in the filing, a few days ago, of an international patent".

The extraterrestrial uses of spirulina could guarantee a phase of development for an agricultural district that has always been attentive to innovation. The algae capable of growing in environments saturated with carbon dioxide are in fact produced in Arborea.
