«A working method of homogeneity and continuity has disappeared, as if someone had committed with a stroke of the pen to erasing what was done in the past». Thus Massimo Zedda in the first interview after the "party" for the re-election as mayor of Cagliari . Zedda spoke this morning live on "Caffè Corretto", hosted in the studio by the editor-in-chief of the Unione Sarda Giuseppe Deiana. The mayor cited an example. «The works at Poetto in Piazza Arcipelagi. I noticed that they are placing different light poles compared to those along the entire seafront, poles called "Poetto" in our project because they were designed for that place. I wonder how this was possible. And that's just one example. A bit like if someone, in his house, thought of putting twelve different floors in the same room”.
The new council - Giuseppe Deiana asked the mayor for some advance information on the new municipal council. «Today I will hear from the city and provincial secretaries of the Democratic Party, the party that coordinated the coalition in this electoral campaign, so that we can immediately convene everyone and begin to reflect on the quality of the women and men who will be part of the coalition. There will be a fair balance between elected officials and technicians. The proposals must also come from the parties. It is essential that the indications are of a high profile."
The city of barriers – Zedda focused on the widespread degradation in the city. «The city is full of barriers everywhere. This aspect is not nice for the towns and citizens nor for the tourists. It gives the idea of a sense of abandonment and this is not good . The construction sites? Things cannot be changed, even if I don't like or may not like certain interventions, like Via Dante. We will try to understand how things can be improved. It is certainly necessary that the many construction sites are completed as quickly as possible."
«Let everyone pay the Tari» – Massimo Zedda also responded to journalist Deiana's question on waste collection. «In the specifications of the new contract, the answers to the difficulties and shortcomings that have not been corrected in recent years must be found. Times? Work is expected to begin between autumn and early next year. It will be a multi-year contract. Here, I would add that there are too many citizens who pay the Tari but also many others who don't. And this is not good."
The stadium and the amphitheater – In his speech on Caffècorretto Massimo Zedda also spoke about the new stadium. «Today the economic project is being brought to the attention of the Government, the State, the technicians of the Region and the Municipality and of Cagliari Calcio. Once this process is completed, the stadium can be put out to tender. We hope that you will not encounter any further problems as in the past . The amphitheater? We immediately need a redevelopment and reuse project as a place for shows, a project to be sent to the Superintendencies, competent to provide answers on an archaeological site".
