The English owner of the motor yacht "Amore" , which yesterday hit the rocks in the stretch of sea in front of the Pevero, in Costa Smeralda, was killed by a heart attack.

The 63-year-old of English nationality was thrown into the water after the collision and rescued by a boat flying the Maltese flag that was nearby. With the coordination of the Olbia Coast Guard, he was transported to the port of Porto Cervo , where the 118 staff tried to revive him, but to no avail.

The other six people who were on board the yacht, a boat flying the Italian flag registered in Monfalcone, Friuli Venezia Giulia, all injured, were rescued by a third boat , the Sweet Dragon, and they too were transported to the port of Porto Cervo. Four of them were accompanied to the emergency room in Olbia, two in red code and two in yellow code .

Meanwhile, investigations are underway to understand what happened: this morning the Olbia Coast Guard is carrying out all the checks and hearing the witnesses . According to an initial reconstruction, Amore was traveling parallel to another boat when - perhaps to avoid collision with the boat - it suddenly turned and hit the rocks of the island of Rocche, south of the Li Nibani islands.
