An expert report on the Sepi Formaggi goods lift . A technical investigation inside the Marrubiu dairy where last May Antonio Meloni, a 75 year old from Terralba, died after falling into the lift shaft . The examination was requested by the prosecutor Marco De Crescenzo who, the day after the accident at work, had opened an investigation for manslaughter against Salvatore Sedda, 72 year old legal representative of Sepi; Gian Michele Guiso (36), legal representative of Esse 5 and Meloni's employer; Franco Mario Pasqualino Angioni (72), head of the safety service at Sepi .
Preliminary Investigations Judge Federica Fulgheri has therefore scheduled a hearing for November 6th to appoint an expert witness. The defense attorneys (Gianfranco Siuni and Massimo Macciotta) will also be able to appoint their own expert. The expert report will determine whether the elevator had been out of order for years or whether it was functional and being used . If the elevator is found to be functional, it will be necessary to determine whether it complies with safety regulations.
Important elements to clarify the accident that occurred at the dairy; it immediately emerged that the lift was not being used and that there were also warning signs .
